Farnsworth founded both Bates’s concentration in creative writing and the Literary Arts Live reading series. A veteran of 26 years at the college, he retires in 2018. He has published three collections of poetry: Three or Four Hills and A Cloud, Honest Water and, most recently, Rumored Islands.
