The Center for Inclusive Teaching and Learning will discuss evidence-based practices for more equitable grading practices by investigating the spectrum of ungrading. We will share common myths or misconceptions about ungrading encourage critical reflection on why we grade the ways that we do. We will share rigorous and replicated decades of research demonstrating that the ways we grade can inadvertently perpetuate the achievement and opportunity gaps among our students. We will encourage all to consider incorporating practices that are more accurate, bias-resistant, and motivational.
