A talk by Bonnie Bassler, who studies the molecular mechanisms that bacteria use for intercellular communication. A Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator and the Squibb Professor of Molecular Biology at Princeton, she received an honorary degree from Bates in 2012. The George S. Hammond ’43, H’73 Eminent Scientist Lecture Fund supports lectures by scientists chosen by students and faculty in Bates' chemistry department. FMI hfear@bates.edu.
