The students of Sankofa explore the history and diverse experiences of the African diaspora through dance, music, theater and spoken word, and other forms. Sankofa’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day production has become a symbol of pride and accomplishment for the African diaspora at Bates, and an uplifting experience for the entire Bates community.
