Carl Bettendorf, a visiting lecturer in music and a New York–based composer and conductor, directs the orchestra this fall. This program includes Mendelssohn's "Scottish" symphony and Chat Moss by Peter Maxwell Davies, who spent most of his life on the Orkney Islands.
