In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, classes at Bates are canceled and special programming takes place around campus throughout the day. This year’s theme is Reparations: Addressing Racial Injustices. With topics ranging from World War II sex slavery to the Colombian peace process, and from racial justice in the courtroom to Ta-Nehisi Coates’ The Case for Reparations, concurrent workshops take place through the afternoon.
