Come out and spend Friday evening contra dancing!
This dance series runs every 2nd Friday at Bates College in the Muskie Archives (70 Campus Ave, Lewiston)
The band this month will be Maivish, with caller Chrissy Fowler.
Maivish navigates a deep current of musical heritage that spans from the British Isles to North America. Fiddler Jaige Trudel and English born guitarist Adam Broome have been playing music together since 2001 for dances, festivals and concerts throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. Maivish is celebrated for a powerfully rhythmic, lyrical sound that is honed to perfection for dancing. Their name comes from an English colloquial term for the Song Thrush.
Friends!! Dancing!! Live music!! Community! No experience or partner required.
The dance runs 8:00-11:00 with a beginners lesson at 7:30.
