Set in the Pacific island nation of Kiribati, director Matthieu Rytz’s documentary portrays the challenges that the changing climate and rising sea levels impose on residents and local leaders. With a goal of social justice, the festival board selected the film as a powerful depiction of the connections among the global climate, politics and the lives of ordinary people. The session opens with short films from Guyana, and concludes with a panel discussion of climate change. FMI jcavalle@bates.edu.
