A Sudanese-American poet and peace activist, Mahmoud reads from her poetry and discusses her human rights work. A former refugee, Mahmoud was the 2015 World Poetry Slam Champion and is now a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Goodwill Ambassador. She is also the founder of the peace movement One Girl Walk. Part of the Harward Center’s Theory into Practice series, this event is presented in partnership with the University of Maine School of Law’s Justice for Women series. FMI 207-786-8283.
